CHANDIGARH: Banwarilal Purohit, who as Tamil Nadu governor, was recently given additional charge of Punjab governor-cum-Chandigarh UT administrator, has been appointed as full time governor of Punjab.
In orders issues from Rashtrapati Bhawan on Thursday night orders said Purohit was shifted from Tamil Nadu to Punjab and Nagaland governor R N Ravi was appointed as new Tamil Nadu governor.
Meanwhile, the press communication did not mention anything about his taking charge as UT administrator.
Political parties and local residents have been demanding separate post of UT administrator or chief commissioner for Chandigarh, and not giving additional charge to Punjab governor.
