Bannockburn gets into the festive spirit as switch-on brings out the crowds

The sum of £400 was raised for Bannockburn Guides during Sunday’s Christmas Lights switch on in the town.

The annual event is organised by Bannockburn Community Council.

BCC secretary Tommy Cattigan said: “We would like to thank all the people in Bannockburn who came along to the Christmas lights switch on - especially considering the rainy weather.

“We had Santa and his Elf and the Rotary sleigh for a second year, and the reaction on the faces of the children was really magical.

“A big thanks has to go to elves and volunteers who have made this event such a success for the last six years.

“The group who provided the teas, coffees, hot chocolate and scrumptious cakes, candy floss, toasted marshmallows and the raffle raised £400 this year which is being donated to the Guides in Bannockburn.”
