Banned Scots motorist 'missed cop by inches' after mounting pavement and driving at her

A banned driver mounted a pavement and sped towards a policewoman after being cornered. Calvin McLintock, 24, missed the uniformed officer by inches.

Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in a Falkirk cul-de-sac in September, a court heard.

They found a Mercedes with McLintock in the driver’s seat.

Officers blocked the road with their car but when Constable Laura Gibson approached, he accelerated, mounted the pavement and drove towards her, then fled.

He was later arrested at his girlfriend’s home.

McLintock, of Bonnybridge, pled guilty at Stirling Sheriff Court to dangerous driving while disqualified and without insurance.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton deferred sentence until February 1.
