Banned Blantyre driver caught behind the wheel while over limit

A Blantyre driver supposed to be serving a ban was caught behind the wheel while over the drink limit.

George Madden, 50, of Bellsfield Drive, was fined £800 and given a further 32-month ban from driving when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week. He was also ordered to do 240 hours of unpaid community work.

Madden admitted driving while disqualified and while 13 points over the alcohol limit of 22 in Hamilton last November.
