Banksy's Girl And Balloon expected to fetch millions at Christie’s auction

The Banksy artwork Girl And Balloon is set to be auctioned in London in two weeks time.

The artwork is expected to sell for a huge amount of money, estimated to be between £2.5 million and £3.5 million.

It is currently on display at Christie’s showroom in London. The piece will be included in the 20th and 21st Century: Evening Sale including Thinking Italian.

The first of the pair shows a small girl reaching towards the sky, and the second one shows a heart-shaped red balloon, an image Banksy often uses.

Banksy is an anonymous artist, whose works have featured around Bristol, as well as in other cities.

In 2018, his artwork “Girl With Balloon” was sold at auction at Sotheby’s in London for £1,042,000, before shredding itself in the frame in front of a stunned audience.

The newly shredded piece was then renamed “Love is in the Bin” by the artist.
