One of Banksy's 'works in the wild' from Glasgow's Arches is up for sale for a cool £1.6m.
The piece has been restored to its former glory after featuring in the Peace Is Tough exhibition jointly held by the elusive artist and Jamie Reid at the Argyle Street venue in 2001.
The street art maverick famously left other works inside the venue, including a Mona Lisa piece and a gun-toting monkey sporting a tutu which had been painted over with grey emulsion paint in 2007.
Argyle Street Arches (ASA) undertook a five-month project to restore murals in partnership with London-based Fine Art Restoration Co. (FARCO) in 2018..
This piece, which features three helicopters, also featured in a book released by the artists's former agent Steve Lazarides. Half of the fee will go to refugee charity choose.love.
You can view it on the gallery website.
Widewalls said: "This is a chance to own a true one off. Pest Control never have and never will give COA's for work from the wild, however this piece comes direct from the restorers who removed the piece at the bequest of the owners where it was originally painted in Glasgow.
"The piece features in Steve Lazarides (Banksy's agent at the time) book and has a full documented time line from the owners and restorers as to where it arrived, for sale today."
