Banksy reveals new mural on Instagram as graffiti artist 'works from home' amid coronavirus lockdown

Banksy has revealed a new mural as the coronavirus lockdown continues - but Britons won't be able to visit it when measures are lifted.

The graffiti artist's latest work appears to have been created in his own home, playing on the disruption to everyday life caused by government imposed social distancing measures during the coronavirus outbreak.

A photo shared on the artist's official Instagram account shows a number of rats stencilled across the walls of a bathroom.

The rodents appear to be swinging from towel holders, knocking loo roll off shelves and even weeing on the toilet seat.

A caption posted by the artist alongside the photo reads: "My wife hates it when I work from home."

The artwork is one of a number unveiled by the artist in recent months.

Just before Christmas, a piece appeared on a brick wall on Vyse Street in Birmingham.

Posted to the artist's Instagram account, a short clip showed a homeless man sipping a drink while sat on a bench alongside a busy city street.

As the rough sleeper settled down to sleep, the camera zoomed out to reveal two reindeer spray painted onto the wall beside him. They appeared to be pulling the bench up into the star-filled sky.

Most recently, Banky took credit for a Valentine's Day-themed mural in Barton Hill, Bristol.

The graffiti depicted a child using a slingshot to shoot bright red roses into the sky.

Just days after it appeared, the artwork was defaced overnight, with someone spraypainting over it.

Residents expressed disappointed over the vandalism, but Banksy last night admitted he was "kind of glad".

On his Instagram page, he wrote: "I'm kind of glad the piece in Barton Hill got vandalised.

"The initial sketch was a lot better.."
