Bankrupt Katie Price was eyeing up Caroline Flack's Love Island job weeks ago

Katie Price had her eyes on Caroline Flack's Love Island job weeks ago.

Flack stepped down four days after an alleged fight broke out with her boyfriend Lewis Burton at her London home and led to her arrest.

Now Katie, 40, will have to fight off the likes of Maya Jama and Laura Whitmore if she hopes to fill the position.

Speculation has been rife about who will take Caroline's place on the show but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Just weeks ago, Katie confided in her YouTube followers she would love to take on the Love Island host duties.

This may come as no surprise with the bombshell's turbulent experience of love and heartbreak over her years in the limelight.

The former glamour model apologised to Caroline for eyeing up her job.

She said: “I would love to present Love Island. Sorry Caroline Flack but I would love to have your job."

The video was made prior to news Katie was declared bankrupt after failing to repay thousands of pounds that she owed in debt.

At one point it is believed that the now bankrupt personality was worth over £40 million.

She has since hit rock bottom after being forced to sleep on a mattress on the floor amid fears she might even lose her house during the Christmas period.

Over the weekend, Katie was reportedly pulled away from a bathroom row by bouncers.

Caroline will stand down from her hosting duties for winter Love Island.

Flack wrote: “Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly. In order not to detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is stand down from Series 6.”

Caroline’s decision to leave the show and the opportunity to work with ITV is still available to her, according to ITV sources.

She had been set to shortly fly out to Cape Town for the filming of Season 6. Caroline has already shot the promotional footage for the upcoming season.
