Bank of Ireland payment delays affecting Northern Ireland customers

Bank of Ireland are dealing with a “delay” in payments this morning, they say.

Details of the issue are unclear, however it appears that a number of the bank’s customers are facing problems using their cards.

One man told Belfast Live his card was declined when he tried to pay for an item and that he was subsequently unable to withdraw cash at a nearby ATM.

The bank also had some issues on Saturday (July 6) according to their own Twitter account.

In a statement issued today, the bank said: “There was a delay with payments processing this morning and we are working as a priority to apply these payments to accounts.

"We are providing updates to customers across our channels and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
