Bank holiday weather: Will the sun will put its hat on?

It’s fair to say the weather has been pretty miserable of late.

Torrential rain, flooding and strong winds have been battering the region this month.

But there is good news on the horizon. A much clearer horizon.

The sun is going to come out for the Bank Holiday Weekend.

And temperatures are set to rise into the high teens - and even Bank Holiday Monday itself looks unusually good.

The weather starts to buck up from tomorrow (Wednesday) with a dry start and sunny spells throughout the day with temperatures starting to climb to a balmy 18C.

Thursday also looks dry with sunshine as does Friday and Saturday with temperatures climbing even higher, reaching 20C.

High pressure - something we’ve not seen for a while - continues to dominate over the rest for the weekend.

Both Sunday and Monday both look clear and sunny with the Mercury sticking at around 20C.

And it looks like it will continue to stay dry.

A Met Office spokesman said: “High pressure will be the largely dominant feature across the UK during this period.

“This will bring mainly fine and settled conditions across the UK, with temperatures recovering and feeling locally warm in southern and central areas.”

Time to get the barbecue out?
