Bank Holiday Weather: Dublin to be hit by thunderstorms and heavy rain but it isn't all bad news

Summer might be coming to an end as Dublin is set to be hit with thunderstorms and heavy rain this Bank Holiday Weekend.

But it is not all bad news as the capital will see some dry and sunny spells, according to Met Eireann.

Saturday will start off mainly dry but some showery rain will develop during the morning.

The afternoon will see some good dry and bright spells with temperatures ranging between 18C to 20C.

More showery rain expected on Saturday night with temperatures of 12C to 15C.

A bright and sunny start to Sunday will give way to showers during the afternoon which will later turn heavy in the evening.

It’ll be a warm day with highest temperatures of 18C to 21C.

Bank Holiday Monday will be dry in many areas at first but showers will become widespread during the day.

They will become heavy and prolonged in some areas with the possibility of thunderstorms.

Maximum temperatures 18C to 21C.
