Bank Holiday Sunday: Dublin to see scattered showers today but a big change is on the way on Bank Holiday Monday

Another dull and damp day in store for Dublin today but temperatures will hit the highs of 19C.

Met Eireann has predicted a wet start to the day as the capital will see some outbreaks of rain.

While it will be dry and sunny for some time later this morning, the afternoon will see clouds and scattered showers.

Highest temperatures will range between 17C to 19C.

Tonight will be dry and slightly cooler with temperatures of 7C to 9C.

But the weather is set to take a turn as Bank Holiday Monday will see heavy and widespread showers.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “Winds will become light to moderate variable in direction and temperatures in the afternoon will reach between 14C and 16C.

“On Monday night there'll be further showers for a time in the west and north with a good deal of dry weather in the midlands.

“Overnight a spell of persistent and heavy rain will develop along the south coast, moving up over southern and eastern areas before morning.”

Monday night will see temperatures of 5C to 7C in the north or 8C to 9C further south.
