Bank holiday scorcher weather forecast for Manchester - with sunshine and over 21C for a WEEK

Weather experts are saying we can finally expect a period of settled, warm and sunny weather - just in time for the May bank holiday weekend.

After an unsettled and cold May so far, temperatures will finally rise this weekend in Manchester over the long weekend.

And good news for those enjoying summer holidays in the first week of June as the weather is set to stay settled, sunny and warm throughout the next week.

The Met Office say temperatures will rise to 19C in Manchester on Saturday, although it could remain overcast for the most part of the day.

However on Sunday the sun is set to be shining all day, which will help temperatures to rise up to 21C.

That will continue with more wall-to-wall sunshine and 21C for the last day of the month on Bank Holiday Monday.

Temperatures will then steadily creep as the sun continues to beat down on Tuesday and hitting a peak of 23C on Wednesday.

Here's the latest forecast for the long weekend for Greater Manchester:-
