Bank Holiday Monday weather: Met Eireann predicts 22C for Ireland but one WARNING in place ahead of THUNDERSTORMS

Bank Holiday Monday's weather is going to be fair at first with some sunshine at the start for Dublin and beyond.

But, as the day goes on, Met Eireann predicts showers through the day with the heaviest coming in the afternoon and early evening.

Temperatures will reach highs of 22C today but there will be moderate southerly winds.

As we head into the night, there is further risk of showers which could turn into long spells of rain with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms.

The overnight showers are predicted to move into Leinster in the early hours of Tuesday morning with temperatures going as low as 12 degrees.

As well as this, Met Eireann issued a Status Yellow, small craft warning at 5am this morning.

This means "south to southwest winds will occasionally reach force 6 on Irish coasts from Carnsore Point to Loop Head to Erris Head".
