Bank holiday Monday supermarket opening times today for Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and Sainsbury's in Leeds

Many people in Leeds will have been enjoying the warm weather this bank holiday weekend and as Monday rolls around, some of you may need to head out to the shops to stock up.

As with every bank holiday, opening hours are changed at many stores to give staff some well earned time off. With limited hours at many stores on Monday, it is worth knowing where will be open and when.

It can be frustrating to turn up and find your favourite store closed, so if you have plans for a barbecue or a party, be sure to check when they will be open. Luckily, we've done some of the hard work for you.

With the different operating hours today on Bank Holiday Monday (May 29), we've put together a guide telling you which supermarkets are open and what their opening hours are. Here are all the opening hours for the 'big six' - Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons - more this bank holiday weekend.

Asda

Asda opening times are to remain largely the same as normal over the Bank Holiday weekend. On Saturday, May 27, the larger stores will open at either 6am or 7am and close around 10pm - this generally includes the stores that are usually open until midnight.

Most Asda superstores will open for only six hours on Sunday from either 10am or 11am, until 4pm or 5pm. However, on the Bank Holiday Monday the majority of Asda stores will be opening 8am to 8pm, this includes the 24 hour sites, some stores report that they are opening a little earlier at 7am.

Always check online with Asda directly first to avoid disappointment, as some stores may vary depending on your area.

Tesco

Most Tesco Extras and Superstores will open as normal over the weekend leading up to Bank Holiday Monday. Larger stores will be open between 6am and 7am and close between 10pm and midnight.

On Sunday customers will only have a 6 hour window to stock up due to Sunday trading laws. On Bank Holiday Monday the majority of Tesco's larger stores will be open from 8am to 6pm - with a handful of stories remaining open until until 8pm.

Tesco's smaller convenience stores will be open as normal from between 6am and 7am until between 10pm and midnight but it's always worth checking the opening times of your local store on the website before heading out. You can find your nearest Tesco with the supermarket's locator tool here.

Morrisons

Morrisons stores open from either 6am or 7am and close 10pm or 11pm on Saturday's, this will remain the same over the Bank Holiday weekend.

On Sunday, always always the opening hours will be between 10am until 4pm or 11am until 5pm.

On bank holiday Monday pretty much all the big Morrisons stores are open 7am until 8pm. The Morrisons website does not list bank holiday opening hours for the smaller Morrisons Daily stores, as they are franchise stores run by third parties - so customers are advised to look these up individually. Aldi

Much like the others supermarket, Aldi opening times will remain as normal on Saturday and Sunday with the hours only changing on Bank Holiday Monday.

Aldi stores typical opening hours are between 8am and 10pm on Saturday, across England, Wales and Scotland and 10am until 4pm or 11am until 5pm on Sundays.

On Monday, all Aldi stores will be pening at 8am and closing a little earlier than usual, at 8pm. You can find your nearest Aldi with the supermarket's locator tool here.

Lidl

Lidl on Selby Road, Halton, Leeds (Google)

Lidl has confirmed stores will open 8am until 8pm on Bank Holiday Monday in England and Wales. Scottish stores are keeping normal opening hours.

Lidly stores will be open as normal for the rest of the weekend. On Saturday stores will be open from 8am until 10pm and on Sunday stores will open for the usual six hours from 10am to 4pm or 11am to 5pm. You can find your nearest Lidl with the supermarket's locator tool here.

Sainsbury's

Most Sainsbury's Locals seem to be keeping their usual opening hours over the bank holiday. Stores open at either 6am or 7am and shut at either 10pm or 11pm, Monday to Saturday.

On Sunday, superstores are normally open from 10am until 4pm across England and Wales. On Bank Holiday Monday, the majority of Sainsbury's will be open from 8am until 8pm. You can find your nearest Sainsbury's with the supermarket's locator tool here.
