Bank holidays in Scotland this year will be even better with an extra long weekend to jot down in your diaries.
With a brand new year comes another set of bank holidays to look forward to in 2022.
The good news is that the UK will be treated to an extra day off in June courtesy of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
In fact, Brits will have a four-day bank holiday in store this spring as the standard spring bank holiday has been moved to allow for an extra long break.
Bank holidays across Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales differ as each nation is responsible for choosing their own dates off.

Why is there an extra bank holiday?
An extra bank holiday was created to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
On February 6 the Queen will be the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee - that is, 70 years on the throne.
Celebrations for the Queen's lengthy reign begin on February 6 - when the Queen succeeded the throne - but the bank holiday is set for Friday, June 3.
To create a four day weekend, the standard spring bank holiday at the end of May has been moved to Thursday, June 2 to precede the extra bank holiday on Friday, June 3.
