A Pakistani bank, sued by the widow of journalist Daniel Pearl, has denied any responsibility for his murder by Islamic militants in 2002. Mariane Pearl has filed a complaint in a US court accusing Habib Bank of knowingly providing financial services to al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups. It also named an Islamic charity, the al-Rashid Trust, as a defendant, as well as more than a dozen reputed terrorists. Zafar Aziz Osmani, a senior executive at Habib Bank denied the claim.
