Bangs, screams heard from Gatton home before man's death

Police believe the man may have been involved in a fight on Friday morning.

Loud bangs and screams came from a property west of Brisbane where a man was found dead on Friday night, neighbours say.

Police were called to South Street in Gatton about 7:45pm after reports a 38-year-old had lost consciousness.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

No charges have been laid but police are interviewing several people.

Police said the man may have been involved in a fight early on Friday morning.

Neighbour Sara Jane Roberts said she was shocked but not entirely surprised something has happened at the property.

"I'm surprised about the actual incident, but not surprised with the police and the fighting and stuff, no," Ms Roberts said.

"All we saw was the police and ambulance here, we heard a couple of bangs, and everyone screaming.

"Forensics were here last night too."

Police say there was no indication any gunshots were fired.
