Bangor FC announce departure of first team manager Hugh Sinclair

Bangor Football Club has parted company with first team manager Hugh Sinclair.

The Seasiders announced the departure on Saturday afternoon.

Sinclair took over at the Bangor Fuels Arena in May 2017 following the club's relegation into the Ballymena Intermediate League.

Bangor currently lie fourth in the Premier Intermediate League, 10 points behind the top two who have played one or two games more.

The Seasiders drew 1-1 at home to Armagh City last Saturday which made it just one win in their last five games.

Bangor chairman Nicky Davidson said in a statement: "The board of directors would like to thank Hugh for all his achievements at the club. Under his stewardship, we secured our first ever league title and won two cup competitions.

"However, our agreed objective for this season was to gain promotion.

"Unfortunately, we've slipped into fourth place in the Premier Intermediate League, meaning we are extremely unlikely to achieve this goal.

"We have also had mixed results in cup competitions. With all of this in mind, we now feel that the time is right to part ways.

"As directors and as fans, we cannot thank Hugh enough for what he has achieved at the Club. Along with his family, he will always be extremely welcome at Bangor.

"We would also like to thank his management team, including Ross Williams and Jeff Montgomery for their dedication and hard work.

"The club will now begin the process of recruiting a new long-term successor for Hugh."
