Bangor death leads to arrest of man

A man has been arrested following the sudden death of a man in Co Down.

Earlier today, in to the death of a man in his 20s in the Crochan Court area of Bangor.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives investigating the death of a man, aged in his twenties, in Crochan Court, Bangor, earlier today (Tuesday 28 January) have made an arrest.

"A 48-year-old man has been arrested as part of the investigation."

In an update issued on Tuesday night, police said the 48-year-old man arrested has since been released on been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Alliance councillor Karen Douglas expressed shock at the death in the Rathgill area.

"The discovery of a man's body in a garden in Rathgill has been a great shock to the local community," she said.

"Investigations into the cause of his tragic death are ongoing and I would ask anyone with information to pass it to the police on the 101 number or anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

"I would offer my deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this time."
