Bangor burglaries spark appeal after child's bike, golf gear and other high value items taken

A child's bike, power tools and golf equipment were amongst a number of high value items taken in two recent burglaries in Bangor.

On Wednesday, November 10, it was reported that outbuildings in the Clandeboye Drive and Birch Park areas had been entered and a number of high value items were taken.

Between 11pm on Tuesday, November 9, and around 6.45am on Wednesday, November 10, entry was gained to a garage at the property in the Clandeboye Drive area, where a number of power tools and bikes were taken.

Sometime overnight, entry was also forced to a shed in the Birch Park area, and it was reported that an electric bike, a child's bike and golfing equipment were taken.

Police are now appealing to the public to get in touch if they have any information that could help. Officers also had a reminder about keeping secure at home.

Inspector Nigel Donnelly said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and may have information that could assist our enquiries, or who may have dashcam or other footage, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 225 of 11/11/21.

"Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.

"You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/

"I would also remind people to be mindful of their home security. Keep doors and windows locked and set home alarm systems where they are installed. Please also keep an eye on elderly or vulnerable neighbours and report any suspicious activity to police.

"If you need any further advice or information, please contact us on 101 where you can speak to your local crime prevention officer."
