Bangladesh to host Sri Lanka in all-format cricket tour in March

NEW DELHI: Bangladesh are set to kick off their international cricket calendar for the year with a comprehensive series against Sri Lanka in March, as announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The tour will encompass all three formats, including Twenty20s, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Test matches.

The schedule for the series is as follows:

Twenty20 Series (March 4-6): The Twenty20 leg of the tour will consist of three matches, all scheduled to take place in the northeastern city of Sylhet, commencing on March 4.One-Day International Series (March 13-18): Chittagong will host three one-day matches starting from March 13, providing fans with an exciting encounter between the two teams.Test Series (March 22-31): The two-Test series will be split between Sylhet and Chittagong, with the first Test scheduled from March 22 in Sylhet and the second Test set to begin in Chittagong from March 30.

This series holds significance for Bangladesh, especially in the Test format, as they aim to secure their first-ever Test victory against Sri Lanka on home soil.

Additionally, Bangladesh will be eager to continue their momentum from the previous home ODI series against Sri Lanka in 2021, where they emerged victorious.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board expressed its enthusiasm for the upcoming series, anticipating thrilling encounters across all formats. Cricket enthusiasts can look forward to an action-packed month of March as two Asian cricketing nations clash in a competitive battle for supremacy.
