Bangladesh’s 'Donald Trump buffalo' is pulling huge crowds & internet can’t look away: All about this special 700-kg star

A rare albino buffalo in Bangladesh has become an unlikely internet celebrity after locals claimed it looks “exactly like” Donald Trump. The animal, which has been nicknamed “Donald Trump”, has been attracting huge crowds in Narayanganj ahead of Eid al-Adha celebrations.

According to a report by The Business Standard, the nearly 700-kilogram buffalo is being housed in the Paikpara area and has gone viral across social media platforms because of the golden-coloured hair on its head and what many people describe as an uncanny resemblance to the US president.

Videos of the buffalo have been widely shared online, with curious visitors travelling to see the animal in person before Eid.

Why Was the Buffalo Named Donald Trump?

Farm owner Ziauddin Mridha revealed that the nickname began as a joke within the family after they noticed the buffalo’s distinctive hair.

“My younger brother jokingly named it Donald Trump after seeing the hair on its head,” he said.

He also explained that despite the buffalo’s enormous size, it has a calm personality.

“It is very calm in nature. Albino buffaloes are generally peaceful and do not become aggressive unless provoked,” he added.

Mridha further revealed that the buffalo has already been sold ahead of Eid al-Adha, though visitors continue to arrive at the farm to see the viral animal.

Locals Say the Buffalo Looks ‘Exactly Like Trump’

Many visitors who saw the buffalo in person agreed with the comparison.

One woman told Bangladeshi newspaper Prothom Alo, “When I saw his pictures on Facebook, he looked exactly like Donald Trump. His facial structure and even hairstyle match that of Trump.”

She also joked that the buffalo appeared far more “calm and polite” than the politician.

Another local resident named Russell said he visited the farm after watching videos online.

“It really does look like Trump. Its face and hair resemble him closely,” he said.

A visitor named Mim admitted she initially thought the comparison was exaggerated but changed her mind after seeing the buffalo herself.

“When I saw it in person, it actually looks like Trump. The name suits it well,” she said.

Rare Albino Buffaloes Are Uncommon in South Asia

According to the farm owner, albino buffaloes are considered rare in South Asia and are generally known for their gentle temperament.

The “Donald Trump” buffalo was reportedly raised on a nutritious diet of corn, soybean and bran, which contributed to its healthy appearance and large size.

Large and unusual cattle often attract major public attention in Bangladesh during Eid al-Adha, with buyers willing to pay high prices for rare breeds and standout animals.

Another Buffalo Named Benjamin Netanyahu Also Gains Attention

The farm’s second celebrity buffalo has also become a talking point online. Weighing more than 750 kilograms, the animal has been nicknamed after Benjamin Netanyahu.

Unlike the calm albino buffalo, farm workers reportedly describe the “Benjamin Netanyahu” buffalo as energetic, mischievous and difficult to manage.

According to reports, the buffalo is known for snorting loudly and occasionally charging at handlers when irritated.

With both animals becoming viral sensations online, the farm has turned into a local attraction ahead of the festive season, drawing curious crowds eager to see the famous buffaloes for themselves.
