Bangladesh paper defends journalistic patriotism

An editorial in the Bangladeshi newspaper, the Daily Star, attacks the prime minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, for lecturing journalists on patriotism. The prime minister had called on journalists to refrain from doing things that might harm national interest and the economy. The Star responded: "We have no record of a journalist ever doing so", countering that it is her government's criticism of the media "that harms our national interest, and dignity".
