
Police have prepared for the arrival of Toon Bodyslam as the runner is inching towards the capital on his charity campaign.
Pol Maj Gen Jeerapat Phumjit, the deputy Metropolitan Police Bureau chief, said on Friday traffic police will direct motorists along the running route to avoid a slowdown that could cause a traffic jam.
Police held a meeting with representatives of the singer on Friday to map out traffic plans during his run in Bangkok.
Toon plans to reach Bangkok on Sunday by using Boromratchonnani and Sirindhorn roads to the King Power office on Rang Nam Road near Victory Monument. He will rest on Monday and then run through Ratchadamnoen Avenue to Siriraj Hospital and end in his home province of Suphan Buri on Tuesday.
Toon was in Muang district in Phetchaburi on Friday. His campaign to help 11 state hospitals saw donations breaking the 380-million-baht mark shortly before 5pm.
Toon, whose real name is Artiwara Kongmalai, aims to raise 700 million baht when he reaches Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai on Dec 25 to complete the 2,191km run from Betong district in Yala, which was set off on Nov 1. As of Friday, he ran 1,148km.
