
More than 1,000 inventions and research projects from across the country and overseas are currently on display at the "Thailand Inventors' Day 2018" at Bitec Hall 98-99, Bang Na-Trat Road, which wraps up tomorrow.
Sponsored by the National Research Council of Thailand under the "Open Invention & Innovation Marketplace" theme, the fair displays about 400 inventions by students from secondary schools, vocational and technical colleges and universities, as well as 100 research projects by researchers from both the public and private sectors.

Their innovative works are categorised into seven groups -- security, agriculture, industry, social development, medical and public health and energy and environment. Among the highlights are a smart gun, a portable device for formalin substance detection from Kasetsart University's Faculty of Science; and an explosive ordnance disposal robot by the 6th Infantry Regiment in Ubon Ratchathani.
Other projects include a serum made from mushrooms from Thammasat University's Faculty of Science and Technology, cookies to help quit smoking from Ubon Ratchathani University, artificial banana leaves to keep vegetables fresh from Saharajrungsarid School, and an auto-adjustable walker from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School.
More than 200 interesting creations inventors and innovators from 23 countries are being showcased in the international pavilion. Projects range from educational materials to office and household equipment, food, cosmetics, as well as robotics, electronics and automation.
