(Picture: Dave Benett)The aristocrat father of Cara Delevingne is fighting a police decision to take away his firearms licence, the Standard has learned.
Charles Delevingne, 72, pictured with his daughter, was stripped of his right after a decision by Scotland Yard’s firearms command which manages legal gun possession across the capital.
However, the property developer has lodged an appeal against the decision, sparking a showdown with the police at Inner London crown court.
Mr Delevingne is the father of three daughters — Chloe, actress and model Poppy, and Carnival Row star and supermodel Cara — and he also has a son, Alexander Jaffe, from a previous marriage.
He told the Standard the decision on his gun licence was a “bit of a cock-up” but declined to comment on the specifics of the case before it has been heard in court.
“The police have revoked my gun licence, that’s true,” he said.
Mr Delevingne is the grandson of politician Hamar Greenwood, 1st Viscount Greenwood, and head of family business Harvey White Properties Ltd which has a £45 million portfolio of luxury homes and investments.
The Met Police declined to comment on the decision against Mr Delevingne or the pending appeal.
A court official confirmed it is due to hear an “appeal against a decision of the Met to revoke a gun licence”. A hearing date has not yet been set.
