Band t-shirts: readers show off their favourites

GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Three steps to heaven
"Winter 1977 - what's the best way to wind up Punks? Wear a suitably modified Eddie Cochran t-shirt." Photograph: JonhIngham/GuardianWitness
Fela Kuti & Africa 70
"Fela Kuti & Africa 70: Selfie in MRI Hospital recovering from a small stroke I had last Friday. The consultant on my ward today was Nigerian and very interested in which of the Kuti's was my favourite. Fela Kuti's not in my top ten bands even but I love the colour and band logo, I have another in mustard!" Photograph: Phil Beckett/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Glastonbury 2013 - preparing for the Stones
"This t-shirt ended up in my possession after a heavy night out in Manchester and a friend lent it to me to protect my modesty on my way home. It turns out it's a vintage Rolling Stones t-shirt that her dad bought when he went to see them on their 1976 European tour. He never asked for it back and neither did my friend so I selfishly kept it. I like to think that her dad wouldn't mind too much though as the t-shirt has witnessed the Stones twice now - I wore it with pride watching them at Glastonbury earlier this year." GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Sonic Youth - Disappearer
"I bought this Sonic Youth t-shirt in about 1992 I think. Don't remember how I got hold of it since I'd not yet had the opportunity to see a gig and I lived in a very small town in Sweden where such items were not on sale anywhere. Anyway, it was by far the coolest thing I owned and I certainly was the only kid in school who had a Sonic shirt. Not that I'd ever get rid of it, but I was shocked to see that these go for about 200 dollars on eBay now." Photograph: onicfeet/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Gay Rude Boys United - Leftover Crack
"This is my Leftover Crack t-shirt. Wanted it for years but always sold out at shows 'til London this year. Love the strange looks I get, and people's surprise when they find out I'm straight." Photograph: Mick McNemesis/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Sparks Hello Young Lovers
"My favourite t-shirt: Sparks' Hello Young Lovers … and next to me my idol, Russell Mael of Sparks. What a memorable evening!" Photograph: Micah Hammon/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: My daughers' first Depeche Mode concert
"My daughers' first Depeche Mode concert. This week I took my daughter to see DM at the O2 for her first time. It made me incredibly happy. I am wearing the Tour of the Universe t-shirt from 2009. She is wearing my Broken Frame tour t-shirt bought at the Hammersmith Odeon on the 25.10.82. She was born that same day 19 years later. Despite being a fan for over 30 years I have never been in the fan club or sought out the band. I would give just about anything, though, to be able to look Martin Gore in the eye and say thank you." GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Minutemen
"What makes a man ask his mum for a Minutemen t-shirt for Christmas, then forget about the import VAT on stuff bought from the States? Ended up being a lot more expensive than I'd anticipated… Still, amazing band and a cracking tee. (Sorry Mum)." Photograph: JakaQuan/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Rage Against The Machine shirt from Download 2010
"Rage Against The Machine shirt from Download 2010. This was the first rock festival I took my son to. For quality father/son bonding it's hard to beat shouting, "F*** you, I won't do what ya tell me!" with 100,000 other music fans [irony free!]. This shirt brings it all back." GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Serious Moonlight Tour 1983
"Serious Moonlight Tour 1983: A sleeveless number purchased at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh." Photograph: DavidWright/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: The The
"Great T-shirt from rare The The tour late 80s. My boyfriend at the time wore it school (sixth form) and got sent home!" Photograph: Eleanorj Peters/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Neil Young / Crazy Horse / International Harvesters Australian Tour 85
"My folks took me to see Neil play in Sydney when I was three years old, and I inherited this tee when I was old enough to fit into it. It's still going! These days I ramble around playing shows of my own, and this is the one t-shirt that tends to travel with me most places that I go." Photograph: heathcullendotcom/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Seamus' Manu Chao t-shirt
"Manu Chao t-shirt, picked up in charity shop in Edinburgh in the 10p bargain bin!" Photograph: Seamus Killick/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Aged yet ageless
"Aged yet ageless: Of the 56 band t-shirts I recently counted in a crowded wardrobe, this whilst being the oldest is oddly still relevant." Photograph: adrian4acn/GuardianWitness
GuardianWitness T-Shirts: Theme Park
"This is the tee I got from Theme Park's recent UK tour. It's my favourite band tee because the design is a reference to Bruce Springsteen's first studio album Greetings from Ashbury Park, N.J. Using the wordplay on park as well as the colourful logo, it makes for a very fun and funky tee." Photograph: FraserPosford/GuardianWitness
