Bancon Homes has been granted planning approval for the next phase of homes to be built at Maidencraig South in Aberdeen.
The housebuilder will deliver 208 homes at the site opposite Dobbies in the west of the city. It includes 172 private homes ranging from two to four-bedroom apartments, terraced, semi-detached and detached homes, and 36 affordable homes.
Bancon Homes already has 40 properties under construction on the north side of the Lang Stracht at its Roses at Eden development.
Under the company’s planning obligations, it will contribute around £1 million to help to fund community, healthcare and school facilities in the area and improve roads and upgrade the core path network.

“In these challenging times, this will not only allow us to build beautiful homes for our customers but also make a significant commitment and investment in the local Aberdeen economy whilst providing additional security for our employees and opportunities for our supply chain.
“We also welcome the temporary changes to the land and buildings transaction tax introduced by the Scottish Government. Whilst we continue to see a good level of buying interest, we hope that this will provide a further boost to homebuyers and give them further confidence to make their next purchase.”
In April, Bancon announced plans to expand outside the north east for the first time, with a development in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire.
