Banbridge off-licence: Female staff member left 'badly shaken' after shop robbed at knifepoint

A woman working at an off-licence in Banbridge has been left shaken after the shop was robbed by a man carrying a knife.

It was around 8.45pm on Sunday, November 28, when a man reportedly entered the premises at Peggy's Loaning.

Police were told the man was carrying a knife, and that he ordered a female member of staff to open the till.

When the till was opened he took a sum of money from it and made off on foot in the direction of the Huntly Road.

In an update the following day, a PSNI statement said: "The member of staff was left badly shaken following the incident but was not physically harmed.

T he man was described as being approximately 6' tall and of slim build. He was thought to be wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up, blue jeans, black and white trainers, black gloves and a balaclava covering his face.

Detectives are now appealing to the public for help, and are asking anyone with any information about this incident or who may be able to help with the investigation to call detectives in Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1720 28/11/21.
