Banbridge attack leaves two women with "serious injuries"

Police have issued an appeal over an attack that left two women with "serious injuries" in Co Down.

The attack reportedly involved a group of four people on Ann Street, Gilford, on the evening of June 18.

One of the women sustained a bump to the head while the other was left with suspected broken ribs.

Police are keen to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at that time.

Sergeant Stewart said: "We received a report on Tuesday 18 June, at around 6.20pm, that two women had been assaulted by a group of four people.

"One of the women sustained suspected broken ribs, while the other sustained a bump to her head.

"We are appealing to anyone with information, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, to get in touch on 101, quoting reference number 1582 of 18/06/19."
