Baltimore Ravens should blitz Deshaun Watson in week 4

Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald has used the overload blitz concept to rush opposing quarterbacks in consecutive games. This approach should continue versus Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in week 4.

With the return of defensive back Marlon Humphrey soon approaching, we can expect the Ravens defense to play more man coverage on passing downs. Macdonald wants his defense to be disruptive and last week he used linebacker Kyle Hamilton to wreak havoc in the pass rush. Sunday, Hamilton clobbered Indianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew for three sacks in the Ravens loss.

In what may turn out to be another AFC North defensive showdown, the Ravens defense will need to keep the Browns offense backed up in their own territory. As Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson prepares to move forward without superstar running back Nick Chubb, Cleveland will hope running back Kareem Hunt is healthy enough to be effective Sunday. If not, Macdonald should unleash blitzing concepts to make Watson’s discomforted in the pocket in passing situations.
