Baltic Triangle's first ever hotel opens this week with 'eclectic' rooms and Mersey views

The first hotel in Liverpool's thriving Baltic Triangle opens this week after more than £7 million worth of investment.

The Baltic Hotel on Jamaica Street was built throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and will now open just days after the government lifted all lockdown restrictions.

According to owners Town Hotels the venue is “a place where punk art meets urban chic and traditional hip joins synonymously with effortless cool”.

The Baltic Hotel features 58 rooms that will deliver “an eccentric, unique feel with music memorabilia on the walls and luxurious lounge areas”. Peloton bikes have also been installed in some spaces while others boast stellar views over the city and River Mersey.

Completing the rooms are fully-stocked Marshall speaker mini-bars and interactive tablet controls.

Now, after months of waiting, the Baltic Hotel is opening on Friday, July 23 with a huge party.

The Baltic Hotel owners, Town Hotels, have been waiting on the government to lift coronavirus restrictions in order to launch their new offering and they say Friday night will be a chance for people to “get their disco on and bid Covid-19 farewell” until 2am.

Superstar DJ Fat Tony is set to perform at the hotel this Friday, along with Nicola Bear and Jonjo Jury.

Drag queens, hosts, floral displays, canapes, drinks and a red carpet are all set to be laid out for the (mostly) guestlist-only event.

Members of the public are also invited to attend - if you book to stay in one of the limited eclectic rooms available on the night.

Duncan Stewart, managing director at The Baltic Hotel, said: “We’re incredibly excited to officially open The Baltic Hotel.

“Our launch event on Friday, July 23, is going to give everyone in attendance a truly unique experience in seeing huge DJs in venues they’d never normally perform in.

“Anyone visiting this summer, now restrictions are coming to an end, will be able to feel the pulse and energy The Baltic Hotel offers with live events and an eccentric, eclectic mix of high-end decoration.

“We’ve spent more than £11m on The Baltic Hotel and our recently completed Duke Street Boutique Apartments, working alongside a brilliant team throughout the pandemic in order to add to our already established serviced apartment portfolio which includes York Street Studios and Chavasse Apartments in the city centre.

“We are hoping for a truly incredible summer and are sure anyone who visits will not be disappointed by our unique offering.”

The Baltic Hotel’s exclusive launch event will be held in The Parlour.

The public can attend the party on Friday, July 23, if you book a room via thebaltichotelliverpool.com or by calling 0151 318 5840.
