Ballynahinch assault sees woman charged with attempted murder

A 22-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder and common assault following an incident in Co Down .

The charges relate to a serious assault at the Windmill Gardens area of Ballynahinch in the early hours of Sunday, November 17.

A man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.

Three other people were also arrested following the attack. A 26-year-old man has been released on police bail pending further enquiries, while two men aged 40-years-old and 20-years-old remain in police custody at this time.

The 22-year-old woman is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court on Tuesday 19 November. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
