Ballynahinch assault sees man hospitalised with stab wounds

Four people have been arrested after a man was hospitalised with a number of stab wounds following a serious assault in Co Down.

Police say at around 1.45am this morning, Novmber 17, it was reported that some form of altercation was taking place at a house in Windmill Gardens area of Ballynahinch.

A man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment for a number of stab wounds where his condition is described as stable.

A 22-year-old woman and 3 men, aged 20, 26 and 40, have been arrested and remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Darren Handley is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Newry on 101 quoting reference 185 17/11/19.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
