Ballymun residents left terrified after stolen car speeds through estate before crashing and being abandoned

Residents in north Dublin were left terrified yesterday after a speeding car ended up on its side in a local estate.

The shocking incident happened in Ballymun at around midday on Monday.

A silver car that is understood to have been stolen ended up crashing in the middle of the road and was left abandoned.

The driver is understood to have fled in the direction of Poppintree Park.

In the footage, the car can be seen speeding through the Poppintree estate in Ballymun.

There were numerous people out in the area at the time who were dangerously close to the car.

According to a number of onlookers, the driver appeared to be in their early teens.

Images shared online show the car on its roof, with gardai attending the scene.

Dublin Live contacted gardai for a statement, but there was no information available about the incident.
