Ballymun Metro Hotel that was forced to close due to fire set to re-open in January 2020 and they're looking for staff

A north Dublin hotel and apartment building that was forced to close after it was gutted by a fire is set to re-open early next year.

The Metro Hotel in Ballymun was forced to close after its 10th and 13th floors were gutted by a fire in March 2018.

A number of tenants who were living in apartments in the hotel building were also forced to find new homes as the building shut down for repair works.

More than 60 Dublin Fire Brigade firefighters tackled the blaze on March 22 with over 200 people, including hotel guests and apartment residents, evacuated from the building.

Thankfully there were no injuries reported following the incident, although the damage to the hotel building could be seen across the Dublin skyline for weeks afterwards.

Now, the hotel has announced that it is due to re-open in January 2020 with a brand new hotel and apartments.

With the re-opening of the hotel, they are also now recruiting for staff.

There are a number of roles up for grabs, including accommodation assistants, accommodation supervisor, food and beverage assistants and chefs.

They're also recruiting for kitchen porters, a sales and marketing manager, a food and beverage manager and a night manager.
