Ballymena United manager David Jeffrey gets touchline ban reduced

David Jeffrey has had a five-game touchline ban reduced by the Irish FA.

The Ballymena United boss was hit with an automatic one-match suspension after he was sent off during a defeat to Coleraine on March 7.

Jeffrey was also hit with an additional four-match ban for his actions after the game, which were said to be a breach of Article 18.7 of the Irish FA’s Disciplinary Code.

Ballymena have successfully appealed that additional four-game penalty, but Jeffrey will still serve the automatic one-match suspension.

It means Jeffrey will not be on the touchline for the Sky Blues' Irish Cup semi-final against Coleraine, if it goes ahead.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey's assistant Brian McLaughlin has had his three-game ban - received for the same incident - rescinded.
