Ballyfermot United distraught after dressing rooms broken into for THIRD time in 18 months

A fed up west Dublin football club has hit out after vandals broke into their dressing rooms for the third time in 18 months.

Ballyfermot United's lock-up on Coldcut Road was broken into and ransacked by thugs on Friday night.

The club's underage teams provide a sporting outlet for over 230 children in the area.

Images of the aftermath of the break-in shared on social media that show locks cut, windows smashed and valuable equipment strewn all over the floor.

Club officials also revealed they had been the victims of two previous robberies where close to €10,000 worth of equipment had been stolen.

A statement on Facebook read: "So for the 3rd time in a 18 months our dressing room in the coldcut has been broken in too.

"We have never posted about this before. The 1st time we had a €5000 tractor robbed from the lockup.

"The 2nd time we had our boiler robbed which cost us nearly €2000 to replace.

"This time ransacked the dressers and cut the locks were our goalposts where kept and where our other tractor was kept. If anyone has any info could they please let us know.

"As a club that caters for over 230 kids in the area we try our best but things like this costing €8-10k are costly."

The statement added that the club had acquired CCTV footage from around the area and had passed this on to gardai.

Dublin Live has contacted An Garda Siochana for comment.
