Ballyfermot councillor slams shooting as 'an attack on our whole community'

Furious local councillors and residents have called tonight's shooting in Ballyfermot as "an attack on our whole community."

It comes as a man in his 30s was shot multiple times at 7:30pm at Ballyfermot Crescent, Ballyfermot, Dublin 20.

Responding to tonight's shooting in Ballyfermot Cllr. Daithí Doolan said: "Tonight's shooting was wrong. It should not have happened. It was an attack on the whole community and left residents terrified. Those behind this shooting can not be allowed get away with it.

"I would appeal to the Garda Commissioner to make every resource available to Gardaí pursuing those involved in this shooting.

"Our communities cannot be held to ransom by criminal gangs. They must be tackled head on.

He added: "I would also make an appeal to anyone with information to please contact the Gardaí. No matter how small the detail is it could go along way to apprehending those responsible.”
