Ballyclare fire 'destroys' businesses

Businesses have been 'destroyed' in a fire in Co Antrim on Friday morning.

The blaze happened at Green Road in Ballyclare after 7am.

Six fire appliances, two aerial appliances and the Specialist Rescue Team were in attendance.

Princess Parties NI said on Facebook: "So sorry our company has been destroyed.

"We will refund any deposits paid we do not have any access so so sorry to all the wee ones who have booked parties."

Borderline Combat said: "With a heavy heart we must inform you borderline has gone."

A fire service spokesperson said the blaze was dealt with after midday.

They said: "NIFRS attended a fire at an industrial premises on Green Road, Ballyclare this morning.

"The fire was well developed when Firefighters arrived, and at the height of the incident six fire appliances, as well as two aerial appliances and the Specialist Rescue Team were in attendance.

"Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used jets and cold cutting equipment to extinguish the fire. There were no casualties.

"The incident was under control by 12.12pm and the cause of the fire is under investigation."
