Ballyclare family thank men who tried to save loved one after collapse in park

The grieving family of a man who collapsed in a park in Ballyclare on Sunday, want to thank the public who tried to save him.

The man was walking his dog when he became seriously ill.

Two members of the public ran to his aid and administered CPR until paramedics arrived.

The poorly man was airlifted to hospital for emergency care but sadly he passed away a short time later despite the best efforts of everyone who tried to help.

Now family members have contacted a local social media page in a bid to thank everyone who stepped up to help, an in particular the two men who administered CPR.

A spokesperson for Love Ballyclare said: "We regret to report that the man air lifted from the park this afternoon has sadly died.

"We don’t know the full details of what happened but the family would like to contact the two men who administered CPR on him in the park .

"Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved at this difficult time."
