Ballycastle trouble addressed during meeting between Ian Paisley and police

MP Ian Paisley has met with police in Ballycastle to discuss a deteriorating situation of road traffic and anti-social driving in the seaside town after the Ballycastle Chamber of Commerce appealed to him to address the issue.

Following his meeting, the North Antrim DUP representative said: “My meeting with the police came about after a series of increasing reports and complaints lodged with me by residents and businesses and by the local chamber of commerce.

“Business people are trying to build up the town and residents are trying to enjoy one of the most beautiful parts of the country and are being hampered by selfish and dangerous anti social behaviour by a few very irresponsible people.

“The police agreed that more needs to be done and were able to confirm to me that they had bid for and received more budget to help this matter.

“I have also made contact with the Causeway Coast & Glens council and asked that efforts be made to restore CCTV in the town that is so useful in tracking down culprits.

“I will continue to demand police and council interventions to help improve the town and its safety and hope to see progress in this soon.”
