Ballycastle crash claims life of man after quad bike incident

A man has died after he is reported to have fallen off a quad bike during a collision in Co Antrim on Sunday.

The emergency services, including the air ambulance were called to the incident at 3.50pm on Ballyvennaght Road in Ballycastle, after receiving reports that a man on a quad bike had been injured.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering head injuries, but sadly passed away yesterday afternoon.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police can confirm a man has died following a road traffic collision in Ballycastle on Sunday afternoon (20th December). 


"The collision was reported to police shortly before 3:50pm on Sunday. It was reported the man come off a quad bike on Ballyvennaght Road. He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries, but he sadly passed away in hospital yesterday afternoon"

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision or saw the man prior to the crash to get in touch with them as soon as possible.

They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage.

Inspector O’Brien added: "We are working to establish exactly what occurred and would ask anyone with information to call 101, and quote reference number 1202 of 20/12/20."
