YALA: A convoy of eight vehicles carrying ballot boxes from Sunday's tambon administration organisation (TAO) elections was attacked with a motorcycle bomb and one polling official slightly injured in Bannang Sata district on Sunday night.

The attack occurred about 7.55pm on a rural road near Buesu village in tambon Bannang Sata, Pol Capt Sulgifli Raso, Bannang Sata police deputy chief investigator, said.

The vehicles were taking the ballot boxes to the district office after polling closed. As they passed a parked motorcycle it exploded.

Several vehicles were damaged and an official received an eyebrow injury and was admitted to Bannang Sata Hospital.
