Michael Owen has tipped Chelsea to enjoy a successful season in the Champions League this season under Frank Lampard.
The Blues have endured a difficult start to the campaign but got their first Premier League win of the season last weekend against Norwich City.
Lampard's side entertain another newly-promoted club in Sheffield United at the weekend and will be looking to enter the international break with back-to-back wins under their belt.
After finishing last season in fourth, the Europa League winner will discover their fate on Thursday as the draw for the 2019/20 Champions League Group Stages takes place.
Lampard's side are in pot one for the draw, which means they will avoid the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
However, pot two is almost just as tough, with Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Atletico Madrid all lurking.
Despite the potential to be given a tough draw, Owen has backed Lampard for success in his first season in the Champions League, as a manager.
"Chelsea are good at qualifying out of the group stage. Frank Lampard will be delighted to have the Champions League in his first big, big job," the former Ballon d'Or winner told BT Sport.
"They've got some really good players. Of course, Hazard leaving is going to hurt them, especially at the latter stages at this level.
"But Tottenham showed last season you don't have to be the absolute favourites, Ajax showed last season you don't have to be the favourites to actually have a great competition.
"I think Frank Lampard will be really looking forward to pitting his wits against the big boys."
The all-time record Chelsea goal scorer won the trophy with the Blues in 2013, beating Bayern Munich on penalties to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club's history.
