'Ballon d'Or' - Chelsea fans pinpoint Reece James' outstanding performance despite Burnley draw

There are a plethora of exciting right-back across the Premier League, but Reece James is arguably right at the top of the list.

The Englishman has been in fine form this season and holds the flank with great authority in Thomas Tuchel's well-drilled 3-2-5 in possession shape.

James essentially ensures natural right-sided width is retained, provides solidity out of possession and going forward, and the consistency in his final ball has helped galvanise creativity.

The 5ft 10ins defender continued his fine form in the 1-1 draw against Sean Dyche's Burnley, where he managed to add yet another assist to his name.

Overall performance levels must always be considered first, but there's no doubt that goal contributions are fundamental and when a team is utilising wing-backs, it's pivotal that they provide a huge amount of attacking potency.

Certainly, James provides this in abundance and the assist he secured against the Clarets has now given rise to a very impressive statistic, with only Mohamed Salah, Michail Antonio and Jamie Vardy providing more goal contributions this season in the Premier League.

To apply even more context into how well James is performing on the offensive front is when considering goal contributions per 90 minutes.

So far this season, only Liverpool star Salah has achieved more goal contributions per 90 minutes than James.

Chelsea fans were quick to shower the Cobham graduate with praise following his performance in the Blues' frustrating stalemate against Burnley, with some fans stating he is 'the best full-back ever to play this game'.
