Two Balloch restaurants have been forced to close due to Covid.
A staff member at the Balloch House Hotel returned a positive coronavirus test resulting in other workers having to isolate or wait on PCR test results returning.
Meanwhile a number of staff at the Pier Kitchen and Bar contracted the infection with bosses forced to make the “difficult decision” to shut.
Posting on Facebook on Friday, the Balloch House said: “The safety of our guests and our team, who are taking part in the twice weekly Covid-19 lateral flow testing programme, is our highest priority and we are working closely with our safety experts, environmental health, Health Protection Scotland and Test and Protect to ensure this.”
Staff were working to get in touch with those who had made bookings.
The post went on: “We are in the process of notifying all guests that we are closed and will notify guests of further updates going forward.
“As we have a skeleton team available our hotel will still be open with limited operating hours.
“We’re sorry for any disappointment this may cause, but we’d like to thank our guests and our team for their support shown and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.”
Bosses at The Pier said it was with “great sadness” that they had to make the call to shut their doors.
A post on their Facebook page read: “Unfortunately due to a number of our team members contracting coronavirus, we have made a difficult decision, but the safest one possible and that is to close the business until further notice.
“All our staff will be isolating and following all other government guidelines as advised by the NHS. It brings us great sadness to announce this news.
“We look forward to opening our doors again soon and as soon as we are safe and able to do so we will post on our socials for everyone to see that we are up and running again.
“For now stay safe, and our apologies for the inconvenience.”
