Former Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has been singing the praises of Allan Saint-Maximin.
The French winger has been in fine form for the Magpies this season and it's no coincidence that the side's upturn in form recently has happened at the same time that he's returned to the squad.
Saint-Maximin has scored three goals in the Premier League this season and has also contributed with five assists.
The 24-year-old has been an exciting player ever since he moved to St. James' Park in 2019, but this season in particular, he has seemingly taken his game to the next level.
Ba, who played on Tyneside from 2011 until 2013, has recognised this and shared his thoughts on Saint-Maximin via his Twitter page.
The Senegalese striker - who now plays his football in Turkey - tweeted: "How much I would would've love to play with @asaintmaximin what a baller he is".
The former Newcastle man isn't the only person waxing lyrical over Saint-Maximin, with Peter Crouch speaking to BT Sport about his impact prior to the match with Liverpool.
Crouch said: “The good form and results have coincided with him coming back from injury. What I like about him is he’s exciting, Newcastle fans will obviously enjoy that considering the history they’ve had at their club of fantastically gifted footballers.
"He’s just a player that carries the ball, how invaluable that is as a striker or the defence when you’ve been under the cosh - for someone to carry the ball with the ability and pace that he has and make things happen.
"He gets at defenders, he commits them, they can’t dive in and he creates things. That’s what Newcastle have been missing in the weeks that he’s been out.”
