Baldy Breakdown: Giants’ Will Hernandez is a Pro Bowl talent

Could New York Giants right guard Will Hernandez be heading to the Pro Bowl in just his second season? Could he possibly find a way onto the All-Pro team?

Brian Baldinger, a former offensive lineman who now makes a living as an analyst breaking down game film for the NFL Network, thinks those things are entirely possible.

On Saturday night, Baldy provided his latest tape breakdown, this time focusing on Hernandez late last season after getting some experience under his belt. And what Baldginer saw should be enough to encourage everyone ins East Rutherford.

The most impressive part of the late-season film on Hernandez isn’t necessarily the quality footwork or ability to breakdown the defense — both aspects of his game that noticeably improved — but his unrelenting desire to finish every play. Dominantly.

Now entering his second season, Hernandez is feeling confident in himself both physically and mentally.

“Yeah, I mean, it doesn’t even feel like last year,” Hernandez told Forbes earlier this week. “Everything’s a lot smoother for me. I understand what we gotta do; now it’s just a matter of going out there and getting it done.”

The Giants’ seemingly improved offensive line will certainly be a focal point in 2019, and Hernandez is expected to play a substantial part in their revitalization. The only question remaining is whether or not he can take it all the way to the Pro Bowl.
